Can dry ice blasting clean injection molds without damaging them?

Yes. Dry ice is softer than tool steel and sublimates on impact, so it lifts release agent, resin, and gas residue without eroding vents, cavity texture, or critical dimensions when applied with correct pressure and nozzle selection.

Do molds need to cool down first?

No. Molds can typically be cleaned at operating temperature and in the press, which eliminates cool-down, pull, and reheat time from the changeover.

Is it safe around robots, servos, and control panels?

Dry ice blasting is dry and non-conductive, which makes it well suited to robotic cells, weld guns, servo motors, and enclosures when standard lockout, ventilation, and CO₂ monitoring procedures are followed.

Will it remove paint overspray from fixtures and hangers?

In most cases yes. Cured overspray, e-coat, and powder buildup on carriers, hangers, racks, and fixtures respond well because the thermal shock breaks the bond between coating and substrate.
