The pellet disappears, so the only thing left to collect is the contaminant that came off.

What surfaces should not be dry ice blasted?

Avoid or test first on soft plastics, thin brittle composites, degraded gaskets, unfired glazes, and severely delaminated coatings that will flake unpredictably. Heavily rusted or mill-scaled steel that must be taken to a white-metal profile is better served by abrasive blasting.

Is CO₂ buildup a hazard in confined spaces?
