Dry Ice Blasting for Automotive Manufacturing

Fixture cleaning and dimensional accuracy
Weld fixture accuracy depends on clean locators. Grinding spatter off a locator gradually changes the datum; dry ice removes the spatter and leaves the locator geometry untouched. That single distinction is why many plants adopt it first in the weld shop.

Can dry ice blasting be done during production?+
Adjacent areas often continue running with containment and CO₂ monitoring. The cell being cleaned is locked out.
Does it damage robot seals or cable jackets?+
Not at appropriate settings; sensitive components are masked and pressure is reduced near them.

Most single cells are a 4–8 hour scope depending on buildup and access.
